To maximise the longevity of your hair extensions, we recommend using SexyHead Tangler Tamer as well as following these essential care tips:

Gentle Washing:
Wash your extensions with Sulphate & Protein-free, moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Avoid vigorous scrubbing and focus on gently massaging the scalp and hair.

Careful Application:
Avoid applying serums, conditioners, toners or any other products to the base of the extensions. Always start from the ends of your extensions and work up through the middle, avoiding the base of the extensions. 

Hydrate & Nourish:
Use a leave-in conditioner or hair serum to keep your extensions moisturised. This helps prevent dryness and maintains softness and shine. Avoid applying product to the seems of your extensions.

Limit Heat Styling:
Minimise the use of hot tools like straighteners or curling irons. If you must style with heat, always apply a heat protectant to prevent damage & do not heat above 180 degrees Celsius.

Brush Carefully:
Brush at least 2 times per day to avoid tangling. Use a wide-tooth comb or a brush designed for extensions, starting from the ends and carefully working your way up to avoid pulling or snagging. Always brush before washing, sleeping & exercise.

Avoid Chlorine & Saltwater:
We recommend avoiding Chlorine & Saltwater. We also recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure as UV can dry out your extensions.

Avoid Sleeping With Wet Hair:
Ensure your hair extensions are completely dry before going to bed to prevent tangling. Consider braiding your hair or sleeping on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction.

Regular Maintenance:
Schedule regular maintenance appointments with your stylist to check the attachment points and ensure the extensions are secure and in good condition.

With correct maintenance & aftercare, darker shades can expect a lifespan of up to 18 months or longer.

Lighter colours tend to have a shorter lifespan due to the additional processing they undergo. By following proper maintenance & aftercare, lighter shades should last anywhere from 10-18 months.
